About me

I design for complexity,I advocate for clarity.

I'm Ejiro Michael Wejeyan, also known as The Wej, a Product Designer with 7+ years of experience designing digital products across fintech, Web3, real estate, and SaaS. I turn complex systems, from financial platforms and trading tools to operational dashboards and data-intensive products, into intuitive experiences that help people make better decisions and businesses achieve measurable results.

What I bring

Product strategy

I start from the decision a user has to make, then design the shortest honest path to it.

Design systems

Tokens, components and patterns that let engineering ship faster long after hand-off.

Evidence over opinion

Usability tests, A/B and multivariate experiments settle debates faster than reviews.

Collaboration

Close partner to product, engineering and business, and a mentor to junior designers.

Beyond design

Away from work, I'm usually playing a Role-Playing Game, listening to music, or watching a good series. I enjoy getting lost in other worlds, discovering new sounds, and following a story to the end.

  • Music
  • A good series
  • Hanging out

Collaboration

I design beyond the screen.

I'm most comfortable owning a problem from discovery through production. I work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to understand the problem, challenge assumptions, explore solutions, prototype, test, and refine the experience before and after it ships.

My design journey

From a print studio to products people trust.

  1. 2017Design studio internship
  2. 2018Discovered UI/UX through HCI
  3. StudentFreelance graphic designer
  4. TodayProduct design across six industries

My journey into design began in 2017 when I took a leap of faith and interned at a small design studio and printing press. It was here that I first discovered the magic of design: not just as a tool for aesthetics, but as a way to communicate, influence, and connect.

I was fascinated by how colours could evoke emotions, how typography could set the tone of a message, and how simple icons could convey complex ideas. These fundamentals became the building blocks of my career.

In 2018, everything shifted. During a Human-Computer Interaction course at university, I discovered the world of UI/UX and Product Design. I found myself captivated by the potential to create digital experiences that not only look good but also function seamlessly for users. It wasn't just about visuals anymore; it was about crafting entire journeys, ensuring every interaction felt meaningful and intuitive. That's when I knew I had found my true passion.

As a student, I freelanced as a graphic designer, balancing coursework with client projects. This hands-on experience taught me more than technical skills; it taught me how to solve real-world problems through design. By the time I graduated, I had already gained over a year of experience across a variety of projects, each one sharpening my ability to deliver creative, functional solutions.

Fast forward to today, and I've worked across FinTech, Blockchain, Sustainability, SaaS, Health & Wellness and e-commerce, partnering with cross-functional teams to bring digital products to life. I thrive on the challenge of balancing user needs with business goals, creating experiences that delight and deliver value.
